A fundraising football tournament in Norwich has helped to raise more than £250 for the Help for Heroes charity.

The nine-team Heroes Charity 5-A-Side tournament was held at the Goals Soccer Centre, at the Hewett School, in Hall Road, on Sunday, August 26.

The team Caxton Nights, pictured, won the tournament and the plate trophy was won by YC’s Legends.

Tournament organiser William Grundy said: “I would like to thank to all the teams who came along and supported this event.

“Caxton Nights were the eventual Cup winners – after losing to their rivals Pandy FC in the group stage they came good in the final in a tense penalty shoot-out. Goals’ own team YC’s Legends won the plate in a comfortable fashion against All in Touch.

“Football for Losers (FFL) picked up the wooden spoon.

“Congratulations to all the winners and runners-up.”

Goals Soccer Centre manager James Lalonde said: It was a great day and it was good to see so many people taking part.

He added: “It was a great success so another event has been planned for November”.

The charity Help for Heroes provides direct and practical support to wounded, injured and sick Service personnel, veterans, and their families.
