An era of fresh, funny, bold and brilliant broadcasting is about to come to an end as Norwich's Mustard TV prepares for its final shows.

For more than three years the Archant-owned television station has kept us informed and entertained about the life and times of the Fine City and beyond.

But now Mustard is being sold to the That's TV group, and it is thought the station will be re-branded That's Norfolk, to resume broadcasting next month after a break - with a different production team.

Archant staff have today been bidding fond farewells to their Mustard TV colleagues, who have livened up the Norwich newsroom with their personality and professionalism.

Rob Setchell, Mustard TV's head of content, said it was an emotional day for everyone involved.

Mr Setchell said: 'We'd like to thank everyone who has played a part in building a local TV channel from scratch – anyone who has watched and contributed to the thousands of stories, interviews and shows that we've taken so much pleasure in producing over the last four years.

'Mustard has not been 'traditional television' – in fact it has probably ripped up every rule book going.

'But it's been run by a handful of talented, hard-working staff who have repeatedly gone above and beyond to develop something that, I hope, Norfolk has come to enjoy and value as a voice for the community.'

Mustard TV's final news broadcast will air tonight (Thursday, August 31) at 6pm, followed by a special hour-long edition of the Mustard Show from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

I feel proud and lucky to have worked on it - and with the brilliant people who gave it its character.'

Archant, publisher of the Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News, is now in advanced talks to sell Mustard TV Ltd to That's TV, in exchange for a stake in That's.

That's TV is a privately-owned local television business with a network that currently operates twelve Local TV franchises in Basingstoke, Guildford, Lancashire, Manchester, Oxford, Cambridge, Thames Valley, York, Carlisle, Scarborough, Salisbury and the Solent.
