A family whose history is firmly rooted in the Norfolk soil is celebrating the fifth generation to join their expanding brood.

Cameron Gammage is the latest addition to a family whose matriarch is 82-year-old Olive Richardson, who is his great-great-grandmother.

The close-knit family also includes Cameron's father Joshua Gammage, 21, his grandmother Sarah George, 41, and his great-grandmother Janet Gammage, 62.

The family all lives within 10 miles of each other near and in Norwich, and Janet Gammage said they even look alike and are interested in the same hobbies.

Janet Gammage, from Humphreys Close, Forncett End, near Long Stratton, who works as a support worker for mental health patients in Morningthorpe, said: 'It is quite unusual to have five generations of one family living. If my mother Olive, who lives in Hethersett, survives until she's 100, then we could have six generations alive.

'We are a very close-knit family and live near each other and all keep in touch a lot and pull together.

'People have also said that we do look alike and many members of the family have the same family traits, such as being quite artistic and musical.

'I love being a great-grandmother and my mother loves being a great-great-grandmother.'

Cameron was born to Joshua and Jo, who live in Lakenham, Norwich, just before Christmas, and the extended family is also awaiting another addition as Sarah George, who lives in Hethersett, is expecting a baby in seven weeks' time.

Mrs Gammage said that people in Colman Road, Norwich would remember Mrs Richardson as she ran The Flower Shoppe in the street for many years. Mrs Richardson's late husband Fred also ran a greengrocers and her brother David Richardson had a DIY store in the area.
