A fund based at the University of East Anglia and set up to help environmentally-friendly businesses has made its first investment.
The Low Carbon Innovation Fund has invested 65,000 in Syrinix, the water trunk main monitoring specialist, based at the Hethel Engineering Centre, near Norwich.
The firm helps avoid major water mains bursts, preventing significant damage and disruption. Its technology includes vibration sensor applications, helping water companies maintain their pipelines and reduce their carbon footprints.
The fund, launched late last year, aims to enhance the east of England's bid to become a leading, world-class low-carbon economy.
