A Norwich wheelchair basketball club is urging others to take a shot at the goal of winning up to a grand.
How to apply
Red Nose Day Community Cash grants of £500-£1,000 are available to small organisations in the Norwich area that are doing great work to help local people living tough lives. The closing date for applications is February 23.

Last year Green Canaries Wheelchair Basketball Club were given £985 of Community Cash which helped provide the local community and surrounding area of Norwich a weekly wheelchair basketball session for people with disabilities.
Community groups and charities in Norwich are once again being urged to bid for a share of the £50,000 of Comic Relief Community Cash, as Comic Relief and the Norwich Evening News have joined forces to give the most deserving groups in the area a helping hand.
Organisations such as social clubs, children’s groups, churches, theatre companies or charities could benefit – or any other group that does a fantastic job for people in the city.
David Green, chairman of the club, said the money helped them hire a hall and attract regular members as well as new ones.
He said just one example of success the club has had was inspiring paralympian Amy Conroy to become a Great Britain player.
She first came to the club when she was just 14 years old.
With the cash injection, the chairman said they are now forming a team to enter into the GBWBA league.
Mr Green added: “This is the first time we have been able to do this as we have been running sessions for a while and we now have a range of abilities to form a team. We are looking for donations and sponsors.
“This sport supports integration and it gives people their fitness. It’s somewhere local to train and somewhere local to meet friends.”
He said able bodied people also enjoy coming to the club and anybody can have a go at the sport, regardless of their ability.
The grants of up to £1000 may hold the key to transforming your Norwich community group. You have until February 23 to grab your grand.
