The father of a teenager who went missing after a night out in Southwold almost a year ago has appealed for information to piece together his son's final movements.

Daniel Hannant, 19, went missing after a night with friends at the British Legion Club in Blackmill Road, Southwold, on Saturday, February 28, last year and was found dead a few days later.

Now as the first anniversary of his death approaches, his parents have said they still have unanswered questions about his final hours and are hoping that anyone with any information will come forward.

His father Michael Hannant said: “We hope that as it will be a year on Saturday that Daniel was last seen, it might trigger memories among other people who might have been out that night.

“He left the British Legion Club at about 11.30pm and although there have been some witnesses who have said they saw him around Station Road, that doesn't add up with his body later being found in Buss Creek near the Blyth Road allotments. That would have been off his usual route home.”

Daniel, who lived with his parents and two brothers in Reydon, was a former pupil at Sir John Leman High School, in Beccles, and had been working as a shop assistant at the Somerfield supermarket in Southwold.

Anyone with information should contact the coroner's officers at Lowestoft police station on 01986 835300.
