A fashion, music and dance mash up ends Norwich Fashion Week 2013 on a high, says EMMA HARROWING.

Against the backdrop of the sounds of up and coming bands Nina Baker, Lettie and Jake Morrell came a mash up of fashion trends from the many style sectors in Norfolk.

Norwich Fashion Week is about highlighting the diverse collection of fashion there is in Norfolk, from independent boutiques and high street brands, to the vintage scene and local and up and coming fashion designers. And in this, the final show of Norwich Fashion Week 2013, all strands of fashion came together in one big Fashion Mash Up.

Supported by Latitude Festival and the Knightshift Dance Company, Fashion Mash Up was an eclectic mix of fashion, live music and dance.

Latitude presented the three bands to the show and each gave a magnificent set of tracks, some mixed with a fashion set from the Norwich Fashion Week models and others set to dance routines from Norwich based Knightshift Dance Company.

Fashion on stage included high street brand John Lewis who showcased a clash of monochrome and floral prints, vintage boutiques Retreat Vintage on Magdalen Street with an original 90s fashion set and Thornham based Vintage Deli who showcased a festival and tribal inspired collection, independent menswear shop Dogfish with a 90s inspired menswear collection, up and coming fashion designer Ashley Pearce from King's Lynn whose latest Mystic Magic Masquerade collection was inspired by steampunk and Norwich designer Jane Kenning who showcased a 'Made in Norwich' Alice in Wonderland print dress with neat corset and full skirt.

Jane Kenning's dress was worn by a Knightshift dancer who elegantly danced on stage to singer/songwriter Nina Baker's strong ballad When I'm Not With You. While Ashley Pearce's Mystic Magic Masquerade steampunk inspired collection provided the finale set of the show alongside the haunting sounds of Lettie's final track of the night Sanctuary.

Each fashion and music set was punctuated with a high-energy dance set from the Knightshift Dance Company wearing 90s and Emo inspired fashion from Catfish and The Rock Collection.

It wasn't just clothing trends on the catwalk, hair and make-up also played a big part with hair styles ranging from loose tousled curls, geometric styles and experimental up dos from Brian Coombes on Bedford Street, to grungy 'just got out of bed' hair and top knots from the stylists at The Cottage Hair and Beauty on Orford Hill. Make up looks included fresh faced skin, to heavy black kohl eyes, created by the Jackie Hamilton School of Beauty on Lower Goat Lane.

It was a show that brought all elements of fashion week together to end Norwich Fashion Week on a high note.
