On Friday last week the Evening News found fake versions of one of this year's most popular Christmas toys, Fingerlings, for sale in the city centre.

We bought one for £13 on a stand in Haymarket.

Fingerlings are small, robotic monkeys which make noises and interact with users when put on fingers.

But demand has been so great that shops have run out.

After the Evening News' article, Norfolk Trading Standards officers visited the stand on Monday and seized the toys.

They also took fake Fingerlings off the street in Great Yarmouth.

Brian Chatten, from Trading Standards, said safety tests were being carried out on the toys they seized, but elsewhere in the country tests had already shown counterfeit versions had high toxin levels in the plastic.
