The exam period is often a stressful time for many children.

But Fairhaven Primary School in South Walsham has attempted to ease the pressure on pupils with a breakfast to mark the start of their SATs week.

The food was provided by the Sainsbury's supermarket on Pound Lane in Thorpe St Andrew.

Jan Chambers, bursar for the school said: 'The children really enjoyed their breakfast, it is amazing how much they can eat.

'This year the children had a choice of sausages or bacon in a roll, homemade pancakes and waffles with honey or maple syrup, granola, yoghurt and breakfast muffins.

'When one of the children was asked about their day, I think the parent was referring to the test they had taken, one child replied 'the bacon was great'.'

The school said it was tradition to offer a breakfast to its year six children during SATs week.
