Evening News writers were among the winners at this year's EDF Energy East of England Media Awards on Thursday .

Prizes were handed out as the best of the region's press and broadcast media gathered at the SAS Radisson Hotel, Stansted Airport, for the annual celebration, run in association with the website HoldtheFrontPage.

The winners were:

Website of the year, pinkun.com - Archant Norfolk.

Feature writer of the year, Keiron Pim - Evening News/Eastern Daily Press

Designer of the year, Daren Francis - Archant Norfolk.

Sports journalist of the year, Chris Lakey - Eastern Daily Press.

Environmental journalist of the year, Tara Greaves - Evening News/Eastern Daily Press

News photographer of the year, Alex Fairfull - Archant Suffolk.

The Evening News's sister paper the East Anglian Daily Times won daily newspaper of the year and the paper's Martin Newell won columnist of the year. Archant Herts and Cambs title the Hunts Post won the free weekly newspaper of the year category, with the Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard winning the community campaign of the year.
