Epic climb inspired by brave mum and Sprowston Infant’s School, Norwich
A young mother's courage in raising her severely autistic daughter has inspired friends to take on a mountainous challenge.
Jennifer Turner, 29, from Mulbarton, has been on a steep learning curve with five-year-old Chloe, who did not speak before joining Sprowston Infant School's Turtles group for autistic pupils.
And now she and 12 others are pitting their non-existent climbing skills against steep mountain curves in aid of the Turtles and the charity Autism Anglia.
The group of friends and acquaintances are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, which involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Ms Turner said: 'When Chloe was first diagnosed it was very difficult. The charity gave me so much support – if you need anything they are there.
'The Turtles unit has been unbelievable. She now says the occasional word and is more comfortable.
'They and her deserve us to do something difficult for charity.
'My friends think of her as inspirational, and the thought of her will keep us going.'
