Since last October Norwich Arts Centre have been brightening up Norwich city centre by putting art into empty shop windows with their ShopArt! project.

Now for one day only on March 27 an empty shop on Upper King Street in the city centre will be alive with a day full of music, performance, workshops, poetry, films, painting and surprises.

The three split level floors of numbers will be full of things to look at, to listen to, to interact with, to create, to take home and to get involved with. Live music, performance art, paintings, poetry, screen printing creating artworks, kids activities, video art and walkabout performances are just a few of the things that will be filling the day, which starts at 12pm till 6pm.

There will also be an exclusive performance from artist Bruce Lacey who will be demonstrating his kinetic art robots R.O.S.A.B.U.S.O.M and the Electric Actors.

Norwich’s Tim Clare will be leading the team of poets manning the Poetry Takeaway stand.

ShopArt! is funded through the government’s Empty Shops Initiative, run by NAC and facilitated by Norwich City Council and the Norwich City Centre Partnership. For a list of events visit www.shopartnorwich.co.uk
