There was singing and dancing in the aisles when a tribute to The King rocked The Forum, in Norwich.

White Christmas, Lonely This Christmas and Let It Snow were among the songs belted out as The Blue Sueders featuring Elvis and The Broadland Youth Choir, performed at Carols with the King.

It was the third time the festive treat, which is supported by Jarrold, has taken place, with 2,000 raised this year part of the company's Staff Charity Challenge.

Carole Slaughter, marketing manager at the company said: 'The evening went well. I think it was the best one so far.

'Everybody had a great time and all joined in with singing and dancing. We've had lots of great comments about the evening.'

About 350 people attended the concert with the money going to HCPT, The Handicapped Children's Pilgrimage Trust, and the Hamlet Centre Trust.

HCPT takes disabled children on an annual pilgrimage to Lourdes, while the Hamlet Centre Trust provides services for children and young people with disabilities in Norfolk.

The charities were chosen as part of the Jarrold Staff Charity Challenge, a scheme administered by the John Jarrold Trust, which aims to raise funds for local charities and causes.

During the performance The Blue Sueders were joined on stage by Rachel Lane, from Wymondham, who has cancer.

The 26 year old, who has battled the illness for the last three years, was invited along by Jarrold after the company heard about her quest to fulfil her dreams in a challenge inspired by the film The Bucket List.

One of her dreams was to go to Las Vegas, while another is to have singing lessons.

Unfortunately her health prevents her from going to America, so Jarrold offered the chance to enjoy the Las Vegas-style entertainment on the evening.

She was also given the chance to sing with the band in rehearsal and proved so good she was invited to perform a song on the night with them. Carole Slaughter said: 'She was great and looked absolutely fantastic. We were really pleased to be able to help her do that.'
