More people are using electric car charging points at Norwich railway station than ever before, new figures show.
Train operator Greater Anglia said usage at its stations across the region had increased by nearly 70pc over the past two years.
The company said 2,377 kWh worth of energy was used at charge points at Norwich station in 2016. The figure increased to 7,268 kWh in 2017.
Studies show that electric cars produce around 40pc less emissions than petrol or diesel cars. Other benefits include cheaper running costs, cleaner air and quieter engines.
Last year, 26,586 kWh worth of energy was used by passengers to charge electric cars on the Greater Anglia network.
Jay Thompson, Greater Anglia's head of safety, security and sustainability, said: 'I would like to remind passengers that we have these brilliant facilities which they are welcome to use.'
