Schools in Norfolk can give their old IT equipment a new lease of life when a roadshow comes to Norwich.

Google's Bring Your Old Devices Tour will arrive in the fine city on Thursday, July 5.

School leaders can register to have up to five old PCs, Macs or Netbooks, per school, updated with Neverware's CloudReady OS technology, which transforms them into Chrome machines.

The event will be held at Carrow Road from 1pm to 4pm. Before attending, schools will need to register for a CloudReady trial here, and ensure data has been saved elsewhere.

Tom Garrod, chairman of Norfolk County Council's digital innovation and efficiency committee, said improving access to technology was vital.

He said the council was pleased Norwich had been chosen alongside Birmingham, Cardiff and London.
