A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault which saw a well-known caretaker at a Norwich school severely injured.
Notre Dame High School's caretaker Roy Money, who has worked at the school for 45 years and also acts as a steward at Norwich City, suffered a bleed on the brain after the incident on school grounds on Sunday, May 21.
Police were called to the scene just before 11pm where they found Mr Money, who lived on site, with a head injury.
He was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where he remains in a stable condition.
Police have now arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. He has been bailed until June 23 while enquiries continue.
After the assault, Notre Dame headteacher Brian Conway said there had been an 'outpouring of support' for Mr Money, who he said was a 'well-respected and our longest serving member of staff' and a 'really special person'.
