A Hellesdon school last week held a maths week to help boost its pupils' love for the subject.

During the week, children at Kinsale Infant School joined in problem-solving activities, took part in a maths trail and linked maths to other subjects in the curriculum.

The week rounded off with a maths-themed lunch which saw youngster don homemade maths hats and tuck into star-shaped sandwiches and biscuits topped with numbers.

They also took part in an assembly and sang maths-related songs.

Headteacher Louise Robinson said: “The week was part of our improvement plan to improve the attainment in maths and we wanted to really promote their love of learning maths and get them as interested as possible.

“They have all been really enthusiastic and keen. There’s been a real buzz around the school.”
