Development of a Norwich university campus has been hailed as inspirational in an awards ceremony.

Judges of the Times Higher Leadership and Management Awards (THELMA) crowned Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) victorious in the Outstanding Estates Strategy category.

They praised NUA’s investment in campus buildings and facilities, and said they were impressed by the vision behind its growth.

In particular, they said the team had achieved a “great deal with a relatively modest budget”, and said the redevelopment of Guntons and the opening of both Cavendish House and Boardman House over the last five years had helped “build up the cultural quarter of Norwich” around St George’s.

Times Higher editor John Gill said: “Our hope is that the winners will also inspire others working in universities across the UK, and provide examples that they can emulate and adapt to improve their own institutions.”
