Four sixth formers from a Norwich school have been named runners-up in a competition which challenged them to design a sandwich worthy of shop shelves.

The year 13 students from City of Norwich School (CNS) came second in the business competition, which is run by Subway, winning £250.

Students Anwar Hussain, Joss Francis, Benjamin Lacey and Kay Sutkowski were one of the six teams shortlisted from 94 applications to attend the finals.

The Design a Sub Challenge asked entrants to design a new low-fat product for Subway stores, produce a marketing campaign worth £20,000 and a business plan.

The winning team may now see their design go on sale in more than 100 stores throughout the region.

Mel Collison, subject leader of business and economic at City of Norwich School, said: “This was an absolutely super event and something they should all be very proud of.”
