An auction to raise money to help some of the poorest City College Norwich students has raised more than 20,000.
Members of the business community were treated to a lavish meal at the college's Debut Restaurant before bidding for lots, including two tickets to the filming of the BBC's panel show QI and a chat with Stephen Fry, to a 12 person box for a Norwich City Premier League match. The event was held to raise funds to help students with the costs of education for things like transport.
College principal Dick Palmer said: 'It is a great result. Just over 20, 000 was raised. Over three times above the amount we raised last time and around 5,000 more than we had hoped.'
He said the people of Norfolk were fantastic.
