An academy trust has said it is “open to discussions” over the possibility of taking on two local schools.

Last week, the East Anglia Schools Trust announced it planned to join another trust after struggling to expand.

The trust currently runs Cliff Park Infant and Junior Schools, in Gorleston, and had hoped to take on more schools, chief executive Suzanne Mitchell said.

It has not been confirmed which trust it would join, though the Inspiration Trust, Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) and Creative Education Trust each run five schools in the area.

The Inspiration Trust said it has no plans to take on the schools.

But a spokesperson for OAT, which runs Cliff Park High School, next door to the infant and junior, said: “As a leading multi-academy trust with a strong presence in the region, we are always open to discussions with local schools who are looking for a sponsor.”
