Drayton and Taverham business group helps clean up community areas

A team of community-minded business people in Taverham and Drayton have been doing their bit to help make a local recreation area a cleaner place.

Members of Drayton and Taverham Interface – a group of local business people aiming to build better business links with the local community – spent Wednesday, August 22 doing a litter pick around Thorpe Marriott skate park, the nearby pond and the surrounding area, and between them they collected five bags of litter.

Kathryn Dugdale-Evans, general manager of Drayton Old Lodge, was among the team to take part along with Drayton Parish Council chairman Hilary Kisby, Drayton parish councillor Mike Lamb, complementary therapist Jessica Brennan and chartered accountant Andrew Bayton.

'A staggering five, very heavy, bags of litter were collected in just short of an hour,' said Mrs Dugdale-Evans.

'Drayton and Taverham Interface is a networking group, and we all live in the area and want to do projects in the community because we care about the area.

'We want to work together and get involved in the local community for the benefit of everyone.'

She said the group was planning a number of other small community projects in the future.
