Susan Boyle, JLS and Olly Murs are all proof that winning britain's Got Talent isn't everything.
Susan Boyle came second to Diversity in Britain's Got Talent in in 2009. Despite being the runner up, her album, I Dreamed a Dream was the biggest selling album in the world in 2009 selling 9 million copies.
JLS were runners up in series five of the X Factor. They came second to Alexandra Burke and have already had three number one singles in the UK charts.
Olly Murs scooped second place in series six of the X Factor, having lost to Joe McElderry. Joe's contract with Syco was not renewed after 16 months. Earlier this year, the Mirror announced that he would be taking part as a contestant in ITV1's Popstar to Operastar. Meanwhile, Olly enjoyed success with his album, Olly Murs, which went double platinum.
