Norfolk police is supporting the 'Don't Advertise Your Stuff to Thieves' campaign which, over the next eight weeks, will see an advertising campaign run on television, radio, press, poster sites and the internet.

Officers are urging members of the public to play their part in the fight against crime - helping to reduce crime even further by following the crime prevention advice offered in this campaign.

Locking doors and windows and not leaving items such as car keys, bank statements and laptops on display are just some of the crime prevention messages included in the adverts.

The campaign uses route planner websites, petrol pumps and car park barriers to target motorists reminding them to secure their vehicle and remove valuables from display. After directing motorists to their destination the route planner website includes a final step offering crime prevention advice.

Identify theft prevention adverts will feature on online shopping sites reminding the public to keep their personal information secure and not to use the same passwords across all websites to help avoid online fraud.

Adverts urging people to keep handbags closed and mobile phones out of sight will appear at bus stops, train stations and shopping centres.
