Dog walkers have been warned to be mindful after what appeared to be an animal leg was found in a park.

Sophie Gazzard found the leg, which she said looked like a pig leg, while walking her dog in the field behind Broom Close in Taverham on Thursday morning.

She posted it to the Thorpe Marriott (Drayton and Taverham) community page public Facebook group, to alert fellow dog walkers.

In the comments, one person urged others to be careful, recalling a 'spate of people poisoning meat and leaving it out', but she joined others in saying it was more likely to have been someone not putting it in the bin.

One person said it could have been the result of a fox dragging it from a nearby bin.

Norfolk police confirmed they were aware of the post, but had not received any reports.
