• Bertram A Watts bookshop, in Sheringham's Church Street, closed last May, ending a 115-year link with the coastal town. It had been run by three generations of the family.

• After 43 years on the same site, Thaxters of Holt announced it would close its DIY shop on Old Station Way to focus on trade sales in March 2011.

• Great Yarmouth music shop Better Music announced in October 2012 it would close it doors due to dwindling footfall and competition from internet sites such as Amazon.

• Lowestoft shop Baconsdozen Imperial and Metric Tools that sold specialist tools closed in 2012 after owner Kevin Bacon claimed parking has become impossible for his customers.

• Taylor Electricals' shops in Beccles, Diss, Halesworth and Mildenhall closed in 2013 due to the effects of the economic downturn and competition from the internet.

• The popular newsagents, stationers and bookstore Chambers of Dereham closed in December 2012 after more than 180 years of trading in the Market Place.

• Eco-Electrical closed in Southwold in August 2014 after 37 years trading in the town after the rent on the premises more than doubled following a review.

• Travel business owner Alan Hubbard retired after over 50 years in Lowestoft. His business incorporated Bettatravel, Can Am Travel and Canada4u.

• Until 2003, Andy's Records was based on Lower Goat Lane in Norwich. However the rise of chains such as HMV caused Andy's to call in the administrators.

• WJ White Florists closed its doors in Gorleston High Street in November 2016. It was set up in 1947 by William John White, and was originally also a greengrocer's.
