Do you remember seeing Paul Weller, D:Ream or Boy George at the Waterfront? Or recall gigs at The Ferry Boat during its heyday.

If so, the Evening News wants to hear from you.

Norwich's King Street has been home to some of the most vibrant and exciting live music venues in the city for more than 30 years.

The Ferry Boat pub was one of Norwich's best known live music venues and the breeding ground for many local bands from the 1970s until it closed in 2006.

Just up the road The Waterfront, which opened in 1991 following a long running venue campaign, has played host to big-name bands including The Prodigy, Radiohead, Moby, Paul Weller, Vivian Stanshall and Arctic Monkeys.

In 1992, it hosted Sound City when for a week most of Radio 1's output was broadcast from Norwich and in 1994 D:Ream, featuring keyboard player and future TV physicist Dr Brian Cox, played a sold out gig.

The Waterfront also enjoys a reputation for being at the cutting edge of clubbing. It was awarded the first ever all night music license in Norwich and has hosted many globally renowned superstar DJ's including Danny Rampling, Fabio, Grooverider, Roni Size, John Digweed, the late Tony de Vit and even Boy George.

Following the overwhelming success of its recent call for memories of gigs at the Lads Club, which drew responses from as far away as Australia and Canada, King Street Community Voices (KSCV), based at Dragon Hall in King Street, is looking for people with musical memories of other venues in King St, like the Waterfront and Ferry Boat. Or maybe you were at some of the packed Catherine Feeny dates at Jurnets that attracted music mogul's from all the major record companies to a tiny medieval cellar in Norwich?

KSCV's Natasha Harlow said: 'King Street is one of Norwich's oldest streets but in recent times has been the location for some of the best music venues around.

'We'd love to collect memories of people who attended or organised gigs and would be especially keen to hear from anyone involved in the Venue Campaign that led to the establishment of The Waterfront.'

King Street Community Voices will be hosting a meeting at Dragon Hall on Wednesday, May 25 from 4pm to 6pm and will welcome anyone with memories and experiences of listening to, playing or being involved with music at these venues.
