A Dereham couple have made it onto the Independent's ninth annual Happy List, which celebrates 50 inspirational men, women and children whose extraordinary, selfless acts have made our country a better place.
Karen Cully and Dale Parker started making and delivering sandwiches to the homeless in Norwich city centre four years ago, taking the bus from their home in Dereham.
Now they provide a twice-weekly service, called The People's Picnic, feeding more than 70 homeless or disadvantaged people.
The final list was whittled down from hundreds of nominations and Christian Broughton, The Independent editor, said: 'The current climate of fear, mistrust and negativity makes the Happy List arguably more important than ever as a way to celebrate the inspirational people whose kindness make the UK a better place.'
