The family of a man who died in a motorbike crash in Rackheath have paid tribute to a "hugely caring, warm hearted" and devoted family man.
David Gooch, from Honing, died aged 56 when his motorbike was involved in a crash on Salhouse Road on Friday, March 18.
His children Simon and Stephanie and partner Lynne have thanked those who sent good wishes after his death.
They said: “Dave was a wonderful man who was hugely caring, warm hearted and generous. He was devoted to his family and loved to spend time with his three beautiful grandchildren who were the apple of his eye.
“He had a real sense of fun and enjoyed sharing time with his loved ones. He had recently settled down with his partner and her family and was very excited about their new home and new life together. He had great plans for the future and for starting a new chapter in life.
“Dave was a very talented and skilled carpenter and joiner and had worked hard all his life with wood. He had his own business creating handcrafted furniture in the past, but for the last 17 years had worked at a local shop-fitting firm.
“He had huge natural talent and an eye for detail which made him a highly valued craftsman. He is missed hugely at work, with his boss at the firm describing him as irreplaceable.
“Dave was passionate about motorbikes and had a large, diverse collection of bikes which he had lovingly gathered over many years. He took great pleasure in restoration and customising, but his ultimate enjoyment was in riding.
“He had ridden the length and breadth of Great Britain and had also travelled extensively across Europe, including a road trip to Greece in 2016 to attend his son’s wedding. He also enjoyed Formula One racing and was a big music fan, particularly of the 60s and 70s era.
“He was an amazing man in so many ways. He loved life and lived it to the full, with a wonderful sense of humour and adventure. He made us feel loved and cared for by his warmth and generosity. We are all devastated by his loss. We miss him dearly every day and love him hugely. He has left a gap which will never be replaced. He lives on forever in our hearts.
“We would like to continue to encourage any members of the public who witnessed the accident to come forward to the police and we would like to express our heart-felt gratitude to those who were with him at the end.”
