A teenager from London, was involved in bringing crack cocaine and heroin worth around £2400 to sell on the streets of Norwich, a court heard.

Rachel Cushing, prosecuting at Norwich Crown Court, said that police raided the address in Regina Road, Norwich, in February, this year, after they suspected drug dealing was going on at the property and Kevin Mafwa, 18, was arrested.

When searched he was found to have 165 wraps of street deals of heroin and crack cocaine hidden on him.

Mafwa, of no fixed address admitted possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Danielle O'Donovan, for Mafwa, said that he had brought drugs from London to Norwich: 'Mr Mafwa did not think he would get caught.'

She said while on remand it had been his first taste of custody and she said he did not want to follow in the footsteps of one of his brother's who is serving a life sentence for murder.

'He wants to change.'

Sentencing him to three years four months in a young offender's institution, Judge Katharine Moore said: ' 'You were bringing the drugs into Norwich for onward distribution. This was a large quantity of drugs .'

She said by transporting the drugs he played an integral role.

She said that although he did not have previous convictions for supply, he had convictions for other serious matters including robbery and said: 'It is clear to me you were well aware of the seriousness of this kind of offence.'
