A teenager has been arrested for indecent exposure in Taverham.

The boy was detained following reports from several women since Friday, August 13, that a male was approaching women, making inappropriate comments, and indecently exposing himself.

The latest incident occurred on Fir Covert Road, Taverham.

He was arrested on Monday, August 16 and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre.

The teenager remains in custody and will be questioned.

It comes after a woman revealed she was approached by a man last week.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, was out walking her dog, at around 11.45am on Sunday August 15, in Taverham when she spotted the male.

She said despite attempts to lose him, he continued to stay close until he made an indecent proposal to her and then he exposed himself.

The victim said: “I was out walking my dog in the afternoon and I looked behind and noticed a man in the distance. I was walking quite fast and he quickly caught up with me.

“Then I slowed down and he slowed down and I sped up and he did. He then reached across to stroke my dog. I stopped and said "after you" and gestured for him to move on.

She continued: “But then he immediately stopped and made the indecent proposal. My heckles went up. I sped up again and he continued to follow me.

"He then shouted “just one kiss" but I kept moving and I turned around and shouted leave me alone."

The victim said he then exposed himself.

With no other person in sight, the woman said she feared for her safety.

But he eventually gave up and turned to walk in the other direction.

She added: "I called the police straight away after it happened and I put out an anonymous post on the community pages, warning people to be on guard."
