The hunt is still on for remembrance books stolen from Earlham Cemetery on New Year's Eve.
The two Books of Remembrance contain thousands of personal messages and attempts to recover the two books have been unsuccessful.
A spokesman for Dignity, which runs the crematorium, said: 'Unfortunately, we have no update at present. We continue to be puzzled as to why someone would remove the books, as they are worthless to them but mean everything to the families that have recorded a tribute to their loved one.'
The spokesman said the books would be replaced at no cost to the families should the originals not be found. 'We have begun to look at sourcing a new cabinet to replace the one that was smashed and will be obtaining an estimate to replace the books, including the cost of the calligraphy. I would like to reassure families that there will not be any cost to them.'
