These are the men who police want to question about a vicious, unprovoked attack on a young man who was waiting for a taxi in Norwich city centre.

Police released the CCTV images of the pair as they continue to probe a violent assault which took place in Prince of Wales Road a month ago.

A 22-year-old man was repeatedly punched in the body and face in the attack, which police said appeared to have been totally unprovoked.

The man was waiting with his 23-year-old sister outside a taxi firm in Prince of Wales Road - the heart of Norwich's clubland - when he was set upon by two men.

One man hit the victim in the face and, when he retaliated, he was attacked by a second man, who punched him again and again in the face and body.

PC Steve Payne, from Norfolk police, who is investigating the attack, said: 'This appears to have been a totally unprovoked attack by two males on a man who was simply waiting for a taxi after a night out.

'We are extremely keen to speak to anyone who believes they may recognise either man to come forward. The men are believed to have been accompanied by a woman who we are also keen to speak to.'

The attack took place between 5am and 5.15am on Sunday, September 26 and police hope the CCTV images will help jog the memories of other clubbers.

Police said the first man was wearing a black Henleys t-shirt, while the second man was wearing a khaki/green coloured t-shirt.

The woman, who is believed to have been with the pair, was described only as having long, light brown/blonde hair.

Anyone who recognises either of the men, or who has information about the assault, should call PC Steve Payne at the city centre safer neighbourhood team on 0845 4564567 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police are also appealing for witnesses to a fight which took place between two groups at a park in Thorpe Marriott last Wednesday.

What police described as 'a large group of males' got into an argument with four other young men in Hinks Park between 4.30pm and 5pm.

One man suffered injuries to his nose in the fracas and police want witnesses to call PC Steve Coe or SC Helen Edwards at Taverham police station on 0845 456 4567 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police are particularly keen to trace a woman who approached the groups and asked them to stop fighting.
