Norfolk man to appear in London court on firearms charges

A man from King’s Lynn will face a London court on firearms charges.

Igors Popovs, 32, of 23 Archdale Street, has been remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on August 25 on two charges relating to activity on or before November 22.

The first charge is of conspiring to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life/enable another to do so, in which he is accused of conspiring with Stephen Mitchell, Davidas Jacinskas, Tomas Psemeneckis and Edgar Sirgalijev and others unknown to posses a 9mm PAK cailbre gas/alarm/blank-firing, self-loading pistols with intent to endanger life, or to enable another by means thereof to endanger life, in Wisbech.

The second charge is of selling/transferring a firearm to a person who is not firearm certificate holder, also in conspiracy with the others listed above. Popovs appeared in Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
