Michael Currer, 59, known as Mick to family and friends, was found dead at his home in Saffron Square, Norwich, at 7am on November 12.

A Home Office post mortem examination concluded he died from severe chest and facial injuries sustained from an assault.

Detectives launched a murder inquiry following the grisly discovery but the case remains unsolved.

Three people were arrested in connection with Mr Currer's death but all have since been released without charge.

Police have today renewed appeals for anyone with information about Mr Currer's death to come forward.

A spokesman for Norfolk police said: 'While it is not currently an active investigation, should any new information come to light, it would be reviewed and acted on accordingly.'

A review into the death of Mr Currer at Norwich Coroner's Court, held on Tuesday (October 31) heard that 'everything was in' but that senior coroner Jacqueline Lake would look hold a further review on November 28 before a full inquest date is set.

In July this paper reported how police confirmed a man in his 40s who was arrested in connection with the death of Mr Currer had been released without charge.

The spokesman said: 'No further action will be taken in relation to him. This enquiry remains an active investigation and we would urge anyone with information concerning the person or persons responsible for Mr Currer's death to come forward.'

The man was the third person to be arrested. The others were a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s. All three were released without charge.

Police said it was possible Mr Currer could have been dead for days before he was discovered.

The matter was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) after it emerged Mr Currer had been in contact with police just days before his death.

Mr Currer's death came just days after the murder of Steve Stannard who was stabbed to death in Bowers Avenue on November 5 last year but police insisted there was no link.
