Detectives investigating an attempted bag-snatch in Earlham Road are appealing to the driver of a car who stopped at the scene to come forward.
The attempted theft happened on Sunday December 30 at 7.45pm when the victim, a woman in her 40s, was walking with her mother and six-year-old daughter at the junction with West Pottergate.
They were approached by two men and one of them grabbed the victim's handbag.
The woman fell to the floor as she tried to hold on to her bag along with the child and the victim's mother.
Both offenders than ran off down West Pottergate.
A passing motorist stopped to help and chased after the offenders.
He is described as white, aged 45-50, well built with dark blond hair. The man was in a sports car with his teenage daughters.
Police are keen to trace the man as he may be able to help with their enquiries. Anyone with information should contact Det Con Jane Woods on 101.
