A woman has told how her faith in human nature has been restored after her bag, which contained two cameras and her passport, was handed in.
Gina Rundle, pictured right, was putting a picture frame in her car which was parked in The Chantry car park, behind Chapelfield, when she turned around to find her bag was missing.
The bag contained her passport, store cards and two digital cameras, which contained photographs of her son’s prom, her holiday to Berlin and her trips to New York and St Lucia where she renewed her wedding vows.
The mother of two from Bacton said: “I was so upset I was sick.
“It had photos of my dog and cats, one of which is missing. They were memories I could never get back.”
Mrs Rundle, 40, added that she didn’t see anyone take her bag.
“There was a lot going on, we were struggling to fit the frame in the car. I tried to cover as much ground as I could. I looked through the bushes. I felt I had done so much and there was nothing else I could do.”
Mrs Rundle’s bag went missing at about 4.30pm on Monday, August 15 and it was handed in to police in Great Yarmouth yesterday.
She told the Evening News: “It has restored my faith, especially what with all the riots which have happened.
“It makes you think that people are not all bad. I would like to say a big thank you to whoever handed it in.”
A Norfolk Police spokesman said: “Police received a report of a theft of a bag in Norwich on Monday, August 15. It occurred at some point between 4.20pm and 4.45pm in the car park on Theatre Street. Anyone who witnessed the theft or has knowledge of it should contact the City Centre SNT on 0845 4564567.
“We’d like to remind the public to take care of their valuables and not leave them unattended for opportunistic thieves.”
