A man who was found guilty of stealing garden sacks, dog biscuits and orange juice from a Norwich supermarket has been given a conditional discharge.
Lee Mason, 43, from Cranworth Gardens, Norwich, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court today to be sentenced after having previously been convicted after a trial of one count of theft from the Tesco store on Grove Road to the value of 6.90.
Judith Piggin, prosecuting, said it was a 'straight forward theft' on February 8 in which he put items through the self-service check out, scanned them, putting them in a bag and left without paying.
James Landells, mitigating, said the theft was 'relatively low value'.
Mason was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered compensation of 6.90.
