Jailed in Norfolk in June: London drug dealer, knife man and arsonist

Here is our monthly look back at some of the criminals who were jailed in Norfolk courts in June.

• Liam Staff, 26, formerly of Elizabeth Fry Road, Norwich, was jailed for 30 months after he admitted attempting to incite or engage a child into sexual activity.

Norwich Crown Court heard Staff had been chatting on WhatsApp with a girl who he thought was a 13-year-old from Birmingham, but who was in fact a woman belonging to a group protecting children from online sexual predators.

• A “callous and calculated” London drug dealer who came to Norfolk after being stabbed in 2016 has been jailed for eight years.

For nine months John Abodunrin, 25, of Barnfield Gardens in Woolwich, was orchestrating two county lines - named Mason and Jimmy Joe - and would send out bulk text messages to local drug users to advertise availability.

• A dangerous knife man with a “worrying preoccupation with weapons” was jailed for 15 years after two “totally unprovoked” knife attacks on teenagers in Norwich.

Kurt Nelson, 21, admitted two woundings, a burglary and three counts of possessing a bladed article over the course of six weeks last autumn.

• A cannabis dealer caught selling drugs to a 14-year-old boy in a Norwich alleyway was jailed for 14 months.

Fabio Aguiar, 22, of Magdalen Road, was seen by police officers entering the alley with a “young schoolchild”, Norwich Crown Court heard.

• Kiaron Bishop, 22, was jailed for three years and four months after he admitted possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Richard Wood, for Bishop, said he was acting on instructions by others higher up for only a modest benefit.

• An arsonist who started a series of devastating fires in Fakenham over a three day period has been jailed for 16 months.

Stuart Steele, 24, admitted arson, criminal damage, attempted theft and possession of a bladed article. Duncan O’Donnell, for Steele said: “He deeply regrets what he has done.”
