Dramatic police arrest in Rouen Road, Norwich today

A man can be seen lying on the pavement surrounded by several policemen, following his arrest for a shoplifting offence.

A Norfolk police spokesman said: “Officers were called by security at Marks and Spencer in Norwich shortly after 12.30pm today following a report of a theft.

“Police attended and a short time later a man was arrested on Rouen Road on suspicion of theft.

“He is currently in custody at Bethel Street police station where he will be questioned later today.”
