Two people have been arrested following a fail-to-stop crash on the A47 at North Burlingham, police have revealed.
The crash happened shortly before 3.15pm on Sunday<5>when a black Citroen Saxo travelling towards Great Yarmouth was forced to take avoiding action and left the roadside before colliding with a lamppost.
The driver of the Citroen, a man in his 20s, and the passenger was thrown from the vehicle as a result of the collision and was taken to hospital with numerous cuts to his face. The passenger, also thrown from the vehicle, suffered a fractured ankle.
The vehicle which caused the Citroen to take avoiding action, believed to be a small silver Nissan car, failed to stop at the scene.
As a result of enquiries, a car was stopped near Ipswich and both driver and passenger were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The two people arrested, a man and a woman both in their 30s, have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
