More than 40 carers and people they look after have enjoyed a sunny trip to Sussex during a carer's group's annual holiday.

Costessey Carers visited Bracklesham Bay, near Chichester, where the 43 people enjoyed a visit to the cathedral and the castle.

Les Eve, spokesman for the group, said: “This was our fourth break as a group and we had a lovely time.

“The sun shone on us as we enjoyed the holiday park's facilities and on our excursions to Chichester where the cathedral had been expertly decorated with floral arrangements for a festival.

“Our thanks go to everyone who helped to ensure this was yet another success, but a special mention has to be made on behalf of Enterprise Taxis. We thought last year was good but this year even surpassed that.

“Holidays like this are really important because they give you a break from the normal daily grind - they're a relief and a release.

“It's so much better when there is a group of you to share everything - everybody mucks in and helps one another.

“All of us have the same or similar problems and all understand, so there is rather a good team spirit. They don't all come from our group, this time there were some people from the MS Society, and we all felt as though everybody had known each other for a long time.”

The Costessey Carers have also been busy fundraising for the Dragon Boat Race organised by The Anthony Nolan Trust on Whitlingham Broad in July, in which staff from the Costessey Medical Practice are crewing a boat to thank the trust for the transplant that was received by Brandon Steward, a teenager from Taverham.
