The clock is ticking for nominations to be submitted for Norfolk's first ever awards recognising the outstanding contributions of school governors.

Norfolk County Council and the Norfolk Governors' Network have joined forces to launch the new awards, which will recognise governors who have gone the extra mile for their school.

Nomination forms have been sent to all of Norfolk's schools asking them to put forward governors for the awards. The closing date for nominations is Friday, May 7.

An awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 22 in the Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia at 6pm, when governors will be presented with certificates of recognition for their achievements.

More details about the awards and how to become a school governor can be found on the Norfolk Governors' Network website at www.ngn.org.uk
