The Retail Skills Academy's window display competition spreads the word about Norwich Fashion Week - but there can only be one winner.

Norwich Fashion Week is coming. That's the message many independent retailers in the city are displaying in their windows as Norwich's first fashion week begins later this week.

Shop windows are dressed with Norwich Fashion Week banners as part of a competition to find the best window display publicising the event.

The competition is run by the city's Retail Skills Academy, an organisation that helps students and independent retailers improve their business and customer services skills.

Among the entrants are independent retailers Vanilla, Poppy Valentine, Philip Browne, Daisy & Lola, Knotty Green, Long Tall Sally, The Tannery and Berketex Bride.

Each retailer worked with a student from the Retail Skills Academy who designed their window display.

Head of the Retail Skills Academy Sue Dougal says: 'The window display competition was open to all retailers in the city. The idea is for the retailer to work with a student from the Retail Skills Academy to create a window display befitting of Norwich Fashion Week.

'The retailer with the winning display will win a scholarship to one of Mary Portas' Master Classes and your store will be featured in the Norwich Evening News.'

The finalists will be judged by award-winning artist Susan Gunn and the winner will be announced at the Norwich Fashion Week launch party catwalk show this Thursday evening.
