Cawston golden wedding couple Maureen and Tony Lubbock went without presents on their big anniversary day and asked friends and family to make donations to the Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, raising 376 for the appeal.
Tony, aged 74, was diagnosed in 2010 with prostate cancer and underwent a total of 37 radiotherapy treatments at the NNUH.
Now fit an well again, when Tony and his wife heard about the NNUH's Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal they wanted to give something back and also help future patients to be able to benefit from targeted radiotherapy, especially as this would mean future prostate cancer patients would not have to receive as many courses of radiotherapy treatments as he did.
Jenny Tomes, the hospital's head of radiotherapy said: 'we are really grateful to Mr and Mrs Lubbock for making this donation to our appeal, every little helps in us being able to bring this treatment closer to home'
