Carers from Norwich, Hingham and Kings Lynn took part in a daring 'vertigo challenge' to raise over £1,800 for the Stroke Association recently.

The group from Mears Care in Norfolk, teamed up with colleagues from Suffolk and Cambridgeshire for the challenge in Bedford on Sunday, May 20.

They had to climb to the roof of a wind tunnel tower via ladder before making an 125ft power fan jump off the side.

There were 17 carers and family members taking part in the challenge and between them they raised £1,868 for the Stroke Association.

Josie Moore who organised the fundraising event for Mears, said “This jump was a great experience for all of us taking part, and some found it very scary when they got to the top and realised how high up it was!

“We’re thrilled to have raised so much money for the Stroke Association which is a cause that is important to us and a lot of the service users we care for.”
