On September 7 staff from a branch of Brooke's Manorcourt Homecare, which helps people requiring home-based support, organized the trip to provide some of their service users with the opportunity to enjoy a day out to socialise and enjoy the outdoors.

Sheila Read, from Poringland, said, 'The only times I've been out in the last three years was to go to hospital so it was fantastic to have a day out.'

Rosemarie Gilbaud from Brooke said: 'My legs aren't what they used to be and I don't get out very much at all. I had a lovely time with like-minded people.'

Four other people joined them on the jaunt along the Broads from Neatishead.

Service support officer Ben Lawrence, who organized the trip, said: 'We offered this opportunity to our clients to help them enjoy the fun activities that can sometimes be difficult for them to access on their own.'
