The A146 at Yelverton is currently closed in both directions.
Norfolk police said the road was closed following a car fire, which was dealt with by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire had been put out, but the highways department needed to deal with fuel on the road and damage to the road surface before it could be reopened.
