Bolivian campaigner Elizabeth Peredo spoke at the meeting and and Norwich North MP Chloe Smith was among the 50 people who attended to hear what the situation is and how to take action.

Ms Peredo said: 'We do not need heroes, nor do we need the usual political battles. Rather, we require a long-term view that takes into account climate change and other global changes, seeing the incorporation of cross-cutting measures as critical at every level of public administration and of public life.'

The Bishop of Norwich the Rt Rev Graham James sent a message to the meeting: 'We are blessed with a world rich in resources, and fertile with life. But we need to ensure future generations enjoy its blessings too. Facing the challenge of climate change is part of this, along with promoting justice and peace for all.' Ms Smith agreed to take the concerns expressed to the government.
