The participants in two campaigns designed to showcase Norfolk's culinary community are being revealed at the county's foremost food and farming event.
Norfolk Restaurant Week, taking place from October 29 to November 9, is now in its sixth year and so far more than 70 eateries have signed up to take part – including 11 new entries.
For the first time, a Norwich Restaurant Week will run in tandem to the main event to showcase the fine city's foodie scene.
After launching in 2013 with 11 participants, the 2017 event saw some 300,000 diners sample menus at 62 Norfolk restaurants.
Of the businesses which took part, almost all saw an increase in new customers (97%) and overall trade (92%).
Martin Billing, the event's founder and chief organiser, will be announcing the full list of participants in this year's events at the Royal Norfolk Show, taking place at the Norfolk Showground today and tomorrow.
Among the new participants for 2018 is The Tipsy Vegan in Norwich, which will offer Norfolk Restaurant Week's first wholly plant-based menu.
Michelle McCabe, co-founder of the St Benedicts Street restaurant, said: 'Our whole ethos at The Tipsy Vegan is to prove a vegan diet does not have to be restrictive in any way and diners can expect to see lots of innovative twists on typically non-vegan dishes.'
Hannah Hughes, from established participant Strattons Hotel in Swaffham, said: 'We are excited to be part of this wonderful event again this year and you can expect a delicious feast of Norfolk produce by our talented chefs Jules Hetherton and Dan Freear.'
The restaurant weeks will see diners choose from a fixed-price lunch or dinner menu at some of the county's most respected eateries, including The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe – named the East of England's best pub in the National Pub and Bar Awards 2018 – and Titchwell Manor Hotel.
As well as being a hit with locals, Norfolk Restaurant Week has proved to have a wider draw, with 15% of diners coming from outside the county.
This year organisers have teamed up with North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival sponsors Norfolk Country Cottages to reach an even wider audience.
